BAN IMPOSED ON HOLDING MARRIAGE & OTHER FUNCTIONS IN PLAY GROUNDS

LAHORE, SEPT. 12:  Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan has said that it is not worth mentioning to spend the public exchequer but it would be more important that departments work to earn money for the Government. He observed this while presiding over the meeting of Sports Department to review 100 days’ plan. Senior Minister said that through public private partnership apart from promotion of sports facilities maximum funds can be generated. He said that business entrepreneurs, multi-national companies and different organizations can be engaged in sports sector. He directed to form sports policy on sustainable basis and devise plan and sports calendar on permanent basis. Senior Minister directed to impose ban on using sports grounds for marriage and other functions. He said that we have to change the working culture and ensure sports facilities at lower level. Abdul Aleem Khan also directed to complete all on-going projects in sports sector and ensure 100 Days’ Plan for onward presentation.
Senior Minister also directed that in the congested cities play grounds should be created and for women separate sports complexes should be designed. Abdul Aleem Khan asked the Sports Minister to visit under completion projects along with Secretary of the Department and form policy to complete them as early as possible. He said that we should form comprehensive policy for youth to provide them equal opportunities of sports. He said that he would also be visiting different cities to inspect the projects and take decisions keeping in view the on ground realities.
Minister Sports Rai Taimur Khan Bhatti also expressed his views and told that there are certain areas to be addressed in Sports Department. Director General Sports Aamer Jaan briefed the meeting in detail on the budgetary and working situation of the Sports Department. He pointed out that completion of the projects can help in providing more sports facilities to the youth.
