SENIOR MINISTER EXPRESSED DISPLEASURE OVER POOR CLEANLINESS IN CITY

ACTION DIRECTED WITH 3 DAYS OTHERWISE STRICT ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN

LAHORE, SEPT. 10: Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan has expressed his concern and conveyed displeasure over poor cleanliness work in certain parts of the city and directed to immediately gear up the pace of work. He observed that if situation is not come up to the mark in 3 days he would take action against the responsible ones and will not only suspend them but also proceed through departmental rules and regulations. He expressed this while presiding over a high level meeting here at 90 Shara-e-Quaid-e-Azam where he warned the officers of Solid Waste Management and Local Government Department to ensure the proper cleanliness work in every union council of Lahore City. He said that performance of companies, hired on heavy wages, is not working up to the mark and there are many complaints. Senior Minister said that policy of go slow would not be acceptable and he himself would monitor the situation and strict action would be taken against the responsible. Abdul Aleem Khan said that apart from Lahore in other cities cleanliness would be the first priority and the standard of work would be assured. He said that he would also be visiting other cities to review the situation and ensure proper collection and dumping of the waste.

Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan also directed the Local Bodies Department to complete their arrangements of cleanliness in and around the routes of “Ashore “. He said that on this religious occasion we will have to undertake every necessary step and provide maximum relief to the participants. He said that over all it is collective responsibility of the civic agencies to make concrete efforts for better cleanliness work on daily basis.  Abdul Aleem Khan said that there is also news in media giving negative impression about cleanliness and collection of the waste and it is prime responsibility of Local Bodies Department and Solid Waste Management to ascertain the responsibility and get the task done accordingly. Senior Minister announced that he would also be visiting other cities to inspect the on ground situation.
