4 HOURS’ LONG MEETING HELD TO REVIEW BUDGET PROPOSALS FOR 8 MONTHS
LAHORE, OCT. 05: Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan has said that there would be no exception for any department on 100 Days’ Plan and is obligatory requirement to put up concrete proposals in this regard on which in the coming years implementation would be undertaken. He observed this while presiding over high level meeting held at Chief Minister to review the pace of work on 100 days and Punjab supplementary budget. Punjab Minister for Finance Hashim Jawaan Bakhat, Chief Secretary and Secretaries all the concerned departments were present in this meeting. Senior Minister said that the Prime Minister has given directions to all the provincial governments to prepare this plan and all the officers should work vigilantly in this regard. Senior Minister said that our main focus is the betterment of common man and this priority should remain on the top while preparing recommendations. He said that in all the
Departments there should be model work to be implemented in context of the 100 days plan and which would replicated in the coming years in other districts as well. Abdul Aleem Khan directed the Secretaries to come out of the traditional typographical work and come with workable and revolutionary policies. He added that report of 100 Days’ Plan would be submitted to Prime Minister and negligence or go slow policy would not be tolerated by any department in this regard.
Senior Minister directed that for the budget proposals of remaining 8 months there should be clear cut policy that common man should not be disturbed and there will be minimum financial burden. Similarly, developmental side in the province would not be shrunk however alternate resources would be channelized which would be routed through financially sound persons of the society. Abdul Aleem Khan those projects which have already utilized billions of rupees cannot be stopped and now with austerity and minimum utilization of public exchequer these projects would be completed in shortest time. Senior Minister directed all the Secretaries to reduce non developmental budget and complete the ongoing plans as early as possible. He told that the Chief Minister Punjab has given him the responsibility on monitoring 100 Days Plan and Supplementary Budget in the province and it is hoped that all the officers would express best performance in this regard.
In the meeting, Minister Finance Hashim Jawaan Bakhat expressed with regard to 8 months’ budget proposals and said that the last government put the masses in dark and financial mismanagement has brought the province at the verge of destruction. Different departments including, Health, Education, Local Bodies, Labor, Forests, Industries, Tourism and Women Development presented many proposals in this meeting which were discussed in view of the coming budget in Punjab.
