GOVT. MONEY TO BE SPENT WITH TRANSPARENCY, SR. MINISTER ASSURED FULL SUPPORT

LAHORE, NOV. 14: Chairman of Akhuwat Dr. Amjad Saqib called on Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan and apprised him about the different projects including micro loan scheme. He told that so far an amount of Rs. 72 billion has been disbursed as loan while the recovery rate is 99.99 percent which is record for any institution. He added that Akhuwat worked as Public Private Partnership with the Punjab Government and ready to work together in future also.
Talking in the meeting, Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan said that government money to be spent with transparency and welfare of the masses to be given priority. He offered his cooperation for Akhuwat for poverty alleviation program and took detail briefing on the models of low cost housing and other projects of this organization. He said that we have to ensure that public funds are utilized with check and balance and there is no malpractice as well. Abdul Aleem Khan said that in Pakistan Imran Khan has unique example of working the social welfare sector and he is given record donations at international also. He appreciated the performance of Akhuwat in different sectors and assured that no project would be closed for any personal reason. He said that unfortunately the last regime started a number of projects just for getting corruption and commission but the present government has determination to put the country on the road of progress and prosperity for which uplift of social sector is important. Senior Minister said that being the largest province Punjab has also big challenges and we have to meet them in minimum possible time. He also called upon other organizations working on the pattern of Akhuwat to come forward and join hands with government for welfare activities. Abdul Aleem Khan said that new local government system would also provide opportunities to undertake welfare projects with more prompt and at wide scale. He lauded the efforts of Dr. Amjad Saqib in microloaning and other schemes and assured him full cooperation from Punjab Government.
Moreover, Member National Assembly from Muzaffargarh Sardar Amer Gopang called on Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan and discussed a number of issues regarding his area. He said that people have high hopes from the present Government. Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan assured him full cooperation and immediate action for solving the problems of his area as well.
