SENIOR MINISTER ORDERS TO PREPARE NEW MASTER PLAN & BY LAWS FOR LAHORE CITY
HIGH RISE BUILDINGS & DOWN TOWN BE ESTABLISHED ON INTERNATIONAL PATTERN
LAHORE, NOVEMBER 06: Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan given directions to Lahore Development Authority and other concerned institutions to start working on new master plan and creation of bylaws for Lahore City in which along with proper downtown, high rise buildings can be constructed in the city. He added that if 10 storey building can be constructed then how 40 or 50 storey cannot be there with the concrete planning for water supply, sewerage and parking facility. While presiding over a high level meeting Abdul Aleem Khan said that guidance may be taken from Dubai or other international cities for reorganizing the structure of Lahore City and international firms may be offered new projects in this regard on the basis of BOT. Senior Minister also directed to engage high repute organizations for consultancy and engineering services for the new Lahore City while Lahore Development Authority should also consult all other relevant departments in this regard. Senior Minister said that civil society should also be taken on board in the planning of master plan and by laws for Lahore City so that with the consultation comprehensive strategy can be merged. He said that work for new parks and beautification of Lahore City should also be started on the war footing basis which can help in providing best atmosphere for Laborites. Senior Minister said that after Lahore work would be started on the same pattern for other big cities of Punjab. He added that with modern changes we have to bring Lahore City at par with international cities of the world and work should be started without any further delay in this regard.
Moreover, Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan was called on by 2-Member delegation of DFID UK at 90 The Mall. In this meeting Head of DFID Janal Shah and Policy Officer Mohammad Saad apprised the Senior Minister about the interest of their institution in the ongoing and new projects of Punjab in Health, Education and Infrastructure and expressed special interest in Southern Punjab. Talking to them, Abdul Aleem Khan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has great vision of curbing the corruption in each sector and create new Pakistan with better job opportunities and clean atmosphere. He thanked for the cooperation and offered his all out cooperation for DFID in Punjab. Provincial Minister Mian Khalid Mahmood, Secretary Local Government Capt.(r) Saif Anjum and Head of Special Management Unit Fazeel Asif were also present in the meeting.
