SPECIAL TEAMS BE CONSTITUTED TO COLLECT WASTE IN 24 HOURS

Lahore, November 03 : Senior Minister Punjab, Abdul Aleem Khan has directed to immediately take steps for ensuring cleanliness in all cities of Punjab. He further directed to dump waste at the landfill sites in 24 hours. After improving law and order situation, Abdul Aleem Khan has desired that the waste should be disposed off as early as possible in all the areas of Lahore City.
Senior Minister has given directions to Managing Director of Solid Waste Management that in each union council waste containers should be cleared and special teams be constituted to supervise cleanliness work. He added that due to special circumstances there were hurdles to carry out this waste for the last two days which resulted big mess in different areas but now situation is normal and there should be no delay in catering waste collection activities. Senior Minister also directed that apart from Lahore in other cities of Punjab special steps should be taken in this regard and report may submitted to him after getting the needful done.  Abdul Aleem Khan further said that waste management has become chronic issue in different cities and special steps have been taken for Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Multan where collection work has been started on modern lines while in the first phase piece of area for landfill site is being acquired in Gujranwala also. He told that after this, steps would be initiated in Faisalabad and Multan. He also appealed the masses to cooperate in ensuring proper and in-time cleanliness for which no one should spread garbage here and there and ensure to dispose off their waste in proper bags and at fixed containers. 
Abdul Aleem Khan also expressed this determination that in the coming days in all the cities of Punjab special steps would be taken and there will be no negligence for waste collection in any area. He said that civic institutions will have to also produce desired results for which only reports and official papers would not be sufficient and practical results would be needed. Senior Minister also indicated that last government plundered a big amount in the name of waste management on which complete audit is being undertaken and after inquiry reports strict action would be taken against the responsible ones.
