ABDUL ALEEM KHAN TOOK NOTICE OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT SHRINES IN LAHORE

LAHORE, FEB. 02:  Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan has directed to allocate more government land in different cities of Punjab for graveyards where needy people could be provided free of cost facilities. Senior Minister while presiding over meeting of Shehr-e-Khamoshan Authority said that this is an important issue for the general public in big cities and even in some small towns also. He said that in new Local Government System of Punjab there would be comprehensive set up including the issue of graveyards and government would fully cooperate with the general public in facilitating them. He said that such authorities were set up to extend cooperation for the needy ones and there should be no red tap-ism or corrupt practices. He said that the real issue is the space for grave for which steps would be taken in most of the cities of Punjab shortly. Senior Minister was told in the meeting that so far in Kahna Graveyard of Lahore, around 500 dead bodies were brought and out of them 160 were unknown and this facility would continue in other parts also.
Meanwhile, Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan took notice of complaints regarding Darbar Bibi Pakdaman and other shrines of Lahore and gave instructions to take immediate notice to redress them. He directed to remove all encroachments around Bibi Daman Mazar and undertake extension for the comfort of the visitors. Senior Minister also took notice about different difficulties around Data Darbar and directed that security and parking stand be regularized and dumping sites be removed to construct state of the art park in front of Data Darbar. Abdul Aleem Khan also gave instruction to improve the standard around Darbar Mian Mir and Shah Jamal and said that Auqaf Department should prepare its own strategy and take steps in this regard. Secretary Auqaf Zulifqar Ghuman told the Senior Minister that including security different affairs are being computerized on shrines and Auqaf Department would further ensure the activities as per directions. Commissioner Lahore Division Mujtaba Paracha was also present in the meeting.
