RECOMMENDATIONS FOR NEW LOCAL BODY SYSTEM OF PUNJAB

HIGH LEVEL MEETING HELD CHAIRED BY SR. MINISTER A. ALEEM KHAN

A high level meeting of the Cabinet Committee was held under the chairmanship of Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan to finalize the new Local Government System and amend Local Government Act 2019 of Punjab. This meeting was attended by Provincial Ministers and high ranking officers who finalized different proposals in this regard.  Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that the recommendations of this special committee would be presented to the provincial cabinet soon from where its formal approval would be sought. He said that as per the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the New Local Body System of Punjab would be made more efficient and capable of solving the problems of the common man at the local level for which this committee has under took detailed deliberations.

This high level meeting was attended by Provincial Ministers Hashim Javan Bakht, Sibteen Khan, Hasnain Bahadur Dareshk, Mian Khalid Mahmood and Chaudhry Akhlaq Hussain. Secretary Local Government and concerned officers briefed the meeting about the features of the New Local Body System in the Province.
