WHEAT PROCUREMENT DRIVE IN PUNJAB FROM 1ST APRIL

SR. MINISTER ASKED FOR CORONA SOPS AT CENTERS
The wheat procurement drive across Punjab will be launched from April 01, for which the process of distribution of "bardana" to the farmers without any discrimination has also been started while the target of wheat procurement drive is to be 3.5 to 5 million metric ton. Moreover, Food Department Punjab has also completed its preparations at wheat procurement centers in province.
Talking in this regard, Senior & Food Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan said that all necessary steps including Corona SOPs would be ensured at the wheat procurement centers and maximum facilities would be provided to the farmers. He added that "no queue no wait" policy will be adopted for supply of "bardana" to the cultivators at these procurement centers. Senior & Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that after an increase of Rs. 400 in the official price of wheat, now new crop will be purchased at Rs.1800 per mond which is indeed a good news for the farmers community. He further said that this year again farmers have been exempted from "fard" and other land documents for the purchase of "bardana" and they will get it in abundance on the basis of "first come first served". Abdul Aleem Khan said that the increase in the official price of wheat by Prime Minister Imran Khan is great news for the farmers of Punjab and In Sha Allah the Punjab Government will also meet the target of wheat procurement this year. Senior & Food Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan added that he himself will visit the wheat procurement centers in different cities and strict action will be taken if negligence seen anywhere by Food Department.
