SR. MINISTER CHAIRED HIGH LEVEL MEETING TO REVIEW ARRANGEMENTS
Under the Chairmanship of Senior & Food Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan the issues of Ramadan package and special bazaars have been finalized for across Punjab. According to which the Punjab Government wheat costing Rs.1800 per mond will provide to the flour mills at the rate of Rs. 1300 per mond while after an additional cost of Rs. 200 the total subsidy will be up to Rs 700 per mond and same atta will be available in Ramadan bazaars at Rs. 375 per bag of 10kg with a subsidy of Rs.150 per bag. Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that as per the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan ample supply of flour, ghee, sugar, vegetables, chicken and eggs would be ensured in Ramadan bazaars across Punjab so that common man can get edibles at affordable prices. He directed that all departments including Livestock, Agriculture, Industry and local administration would ensure integrated planning for these Ramadan bazars. He added that food items would be provided at low prices at 800 sale points of these 313 Ramadan bazaars across Punjab and there would be no compromise on the quality of items there which would be strictly monitored. Abdul Aleem Khan told that Provincial Ministers and Secretaries will also inspect these Ramadan bazaars in different districts. Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan directed that Corona SOPs be fully implemented in Ramadan bazaars and maximum facilities be provided to the citizens visiting there. He directed that a rational policy should be adopted in all matters pertaining to Ramadan bazaars so that the general consumers could get maximum benefit from the subsidy being provided the Punjab Government.
The meeting was also attended by Provincial Minister for Agriculture Hussain Jahanian Gardezi and Chief Secretary Punjab while the Secretaries of the concerned departments briefed about their respective sectors, highlighted the arrangements for Ramadan bazaars and finalized important decisions in this regard. It was told that Food Department has already stock of 150000 metric ton of wheat and an amount of Rs. 3.70 billion will be spent for subsidy in "sasta atta".
